Re: Articles in Professional Boatbuilder magazine
Does anyone have any first hand experience working with Metan Marine? Has anyone on CSC used them for an overhaul?

CHANCE1234 had Metan do some work last winter and he was not satisfied. I believe it was electrical work. |

I have not had anything done with Metan, besides talk to mike, he seems like a very straight guy though. Just wanted to clear that up.

Re: Articles in Professional Boatbuilder magazine
Mike Borelli of Metan Marine had a fully restored 23' Seacraft on display at the Boston in the water boat show last year and I must say I was impressed. He did teh following to the boat:
Retabbed and refoamed stringers Installed a new two layer composite deck that raised deck height by one inch Faired and painted hull with Fighting Lady Yellow Awlcraft Installed a beautiful teak bulkhead under the bow cap Installed a marine head in the fish locker Rewired everything New gas tank New non skid with original Seacraft pattern New transom Yadda.yadda.yadda. The boat was gorgeous. I am guessing the owner spent $70k total including the new Suzuki 250 4 stroke. |

Re: Articles in Professional Boatbuilder magazine
I was just in his shop on Monday pricing out the electrical for a new spray booth setup, he has some stuff that'll make ya drool for sure. I asked him about pricing and such on a resto but have received nothing in the mail as of late. He had a 23 they just converted to an I/O from an outboard model He also told me he just finished working a deal to perform all warranty work on the new Sea Crafts. All in all he seemed like a straight shooter

I had the chance to talk with Mike a couple years ago. He certainly knows boat restoration, and he knows SeaCrafts very well too. |
