Default Hydra Sports 3300vx

I am looking at the 33 foot VX model of the Hydra Sports line. I have found a few used, just out of my price range. I was wondering if anyone had opinions on this model or Hydra Sports in general. Its winter up here so as always the search goes on for the next boat. Thanks in advance for the replies.

PS I'll never get rid of my 73 20SF.

Most of the early models came with 225HP Yamaha 4 strokes and although great motors they are weak on that boat. The 3300 VX is a very heavy boat and needs at least trip 250's. I have been in the CC version with twin 300's and it was a fantastic boat, but trips would still be my preference on that boat as well. Pushing that weight with two motors put a-lot of strain on them.

I have yet to run a boat with Yamaha F250's but I hear they are real strong and a-lot of people upgraded, or sold their boats that had the F225's just to get the 250's.

I know a guy up here in Western Ct that may be interested in selling. He's got a lot of other hobbies and just doesn't get to use it enought to keep it. I'm not sure if it's the exact model but it is a Hydra-Sport in that size range I think it's a 2000 or an 01. I'm pretty sure it had Evinrudes too. Let me know if you're interested and I'll look in to it more.

I know a lot of guys with Hydra-Sports. The local dealer is very good and the boats themselves are great.

I'm actually going to look at an '04 3300vx in Norwalk on Friday. The name of the boat is Early Riser, it has twin Yammi 300's on it. Is that the same boat??
I am interested in that model because of the ample cabin (sleeps six) and If I remove the hardtop I can get it under the bridge and keep it at my house.
Thanks again guys.

Definitely not the same one. His was older than that.
It's arguably the most popular brand in the area though. At least among newer CCs.

I think you mean 300 HPDI 2 strokes. May be the reason he's thinking of selling.

I would be careful with the 300 yamahas....they haven't recieved the best reviews.

Is it at All Seasons, or at a different marina?
My dad bought a 26ft Hydrasport about 5yrs ago that was brokered through all seasons. He got a great deal on it.

The 3300 looks like a great boat, but it deff looks heavy. I'd probably opt for one with triples. Good luck.

Sea trial went great, it was f--king cold though. The boat went good with twins, nice setup all around but I have not heard much good about those 300 HPDI's. Anyone have more info for me? I love the boat now I just need to rob a bank or something.
