Default SF20 gas tank dimensions

I am looking for dimensions for a a belly tank for a SF 20.
All the threads I could find on gas tank size were for the 23's. I cannot measure my old tank because my old tank is a console tank (above deck) and I just cut 10" out of my console and glassed it back together.

My old tank is actually in pretty good shape and it occurred to me that I could possibly rotate the tank 90 degrees and still fit it except that I had already started glassing a flange to the inside of the console so it won't fit.

I thought it was going to be possible to get a pre-made tank, but it appears that most of you have custom tanks. The recommendation seems to be S.P. tanks, so I was wondering about dimensions and how you take into account the height of the fill and vent connections.

Thanks!!

-Muddy

What size tank are you looking for? I have a 75gal tank in mine. The specs for this boat on this site say 47 gal is standard. My tank is about 6 feet long and one inch too wide (can't get it out of the opening in the floor). I can measure it later this weekend. It's about 6+ feet long, about 6 or 8" high and 2 feet wide or so.

Interesting question, I've been wondering about the tank size myself because of the difference in capcity from standard to my 75 gal tank. What is "normal" with these boats?

Muddy,
My old tank is sitting out behind the boat shed right now. I'll get some measurements later today and post them here. I'm pretty sure its the 47 gallon tank or something close to that. Here are my thoughts on getting a new tank. I'm planning on taking the tank to one of the aluminum boat makers around here, probably Hanko's, to see if they could make a new tank for me. Maybe if we order two they will give us a break in the price. What size tank are you wanting to have built? -will

My tank measures 8" high x 24" wide x 60" long. Its not the original tank, but it does fit nice and sung between the stringers.

I just took some measurements and the dimensions are exactly the same as blue seacraft. I think the tank is the original. -will

Muddywater,
My tank is 7' 10" long and 22" wide, not sure of the depth as it is foamed in. I'd guess about 10" or more in the middle. I think it holds about 75 gallons.

If you have older seacraft 20 with the 4 stringers . . . I'm pretty sure that 24" is too wide. On the project that I gave up on . . . The stringers would only accommodate 22.5" width. The tank is now in strick's new project . . . his boat is a 69 with 4 stringers. This tank was 22" wide.
