Default Tabbing Cap to Interliner- Pros/Cons.

I am trying to complete the fiberglass work on my '77 23 cc
and was wondering what the advantaages and disadvantages are to tabbing the top cap to the interliner . I currently have it secured with #10 machine screws with 1" washers and nylocks every 8".I will also be using 3M 5200 at the joints. I have read ( I think) in the past that
tabbing it gives the boat a more solid feel. If I do tab it , I plan on 4 one foot strips on each side using 4" 1708
Biaxle tape. Opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
CJR

This is just a little history....

On the 21 the cap is "POP" rivet to the hull, and the entire cap is glassed with mat to the hull. When you walk down the outside of the hull and hit it with your fist, there is no rattle shake or shimmy

I removed the top cap to my 23. The front section was joined by a caulking compound. The transom area was joined with Cabosil and resin. I have been advised to reseal the forward section with 5200 and the stern area with cabosil and resin. I am going to use screws to locate the splitline. and then thru bolt and rivet the rest of the splitline. I do not want to repair the splitline holes to hold screws. Use aluminum rivets and SS through bolts with the 5200. You can actually remove all bolting after the 5200 has cured. Use the slow cure 5200.
