I finally got the guts to tear the floor out, been out of the water for months ,foam is dry.The keel stringer is weeping a little bit of water (found boat outside with no cover),but seems solid.Would like some advice on this, and the pros&cons of replacing foam. Thanks

Re: foam
don't know where you are on tearing things up, but on my boat that meant my transom was shot. Once I got into the transom the weeping stopped. have you only checked the top of the foam or gone down into it? the foam is easy to remove but sure hurts the pocket book to replace. I think a few boats here never put the foam back in due to blistering or the fact it will most likely get wet again.

Re: foam
I don't have much experience with waterlogged foam but I can see how it can be problematic.
That being said I feel very safe in a friends old BW Revenge because of the added flotation. My Seafari has foam between the 2 outer stringers and in the cavity under the gunwales, and I like that. Might help you turtle a while in the event of the tiny ship being tossed . The bilge is open -- nothing to hold moisture or corrode the tank. I may replace that foam someday as it does feel dry and subject to saturation. The link below is where I've been buying excellent epoxy and guy's prices on foam are very reasonable, too. http://www.jgreer.com/Foam%20Page.htm Good luck with the project.
