Thru hull in the bow ??

What was the big thru hull for in the bow on the 23 CC its 1987 and I have a big thru hull about 1.25 it looks like it had a hose on it at sometime but what was it used for ?

Mine was for fish box drainage. Changed it to a wash down pump.
