FRP...Pros and Cons
FRP. Definition fiberglass reinforced panels.
Armor Tuf Embossed Liner panel Kemlite ArmorTuf is a lightweight ultra-high-impact resistant composite panel made with woven fiberglass reinforcement and specially formulated polyester resin. The product out-performs reinforced thermoplastic products and standard chopped glass thermoset products throughout a wide range of performance tests. The ArmorTuf surface contains LumaShield surface film, the unique protective finish that is standard on all Kemlite transportation products. These panels are used on RV's, truck liners and so forth. In doing a little research on this I have found that the top coating is really a thin layer of gel coat, or a similar resin. You can buy these panels that are aprrox. 1/8 inch thick with a pebble texture in a 4*8 sheet. I am in the final stage of putting my floor together and was wondering why I could not use these panels instead of making my own. Cost is not the factor so I was wondering if anyone out there has tried this...or can think of a down side factor. All ideas welcome.

Re: FRP...Pros and Cons
I've used them a few times on budget tops I've built for friends. They don't hold up well over time. I think the UV rays get to them and they look like they dry up and then crack. They arn't as strong as the ones I lay up with 2 layers of 1 1/2 ounce mat. They are great for bathrooms.. lets leave them there....
