Default Scuppers

Okay I know I will probably be chastised for this but it is a real concern to me. I have a 1986 CC SeaCraft that is in the shop getting transom enclosed and a bracket installed. My scuppers got my feet wet when I bought the boat, the previous owner had no flapper or check ball.It seems to be a straight shot thru the transom. What is the best material to replace tube from deck to scupper and which type scuppers. Also what size tubing and scuppers? If I replace line as original am I still going to have wet deck. I will not do away with scuppers.
