Default NJ Bluefin

Well I can't compare to cSick Nick but we have some slightly smaller bluefin down NJ way...

I took advantage of the weather window and ran to the Chicken Canyon (75 miles from Sandy Hook) Saturday on my friend's Contender. A little too far for my 20 SF...

Ended up 3 for 5 on Bluefin. 2 were 30-40 lbs, the one we kept was 70.

Fish hit on ballys, cedar plugs, and spreader bars.

I agree with you Nick! I just wish we had a shorter run to the fish like you guys in New England.

Nice!

The largest BFT I've ever caught was in the Tongue of the Ocean, and only 17 lbs. I'm impressed.

21 Contender indeed!

A "big" 21, but still the smallest out there by 5ft! It was my neighbor's first tuna trip when we caught and he is hooked! Already looking to move up to a 25 Contender.

We did 190 round trip, burned 62 gal. 3~ mpg is quite good.

Thanks for all the nice replies everyone!
