Default \"Those pesky pig weights\"

My 18 came with 1 battery in the starboard aft compartment. I recently added 1 and installed them under the console to balance and shift weight forward. My question is, did they put any weights on the port side to offset the battery when originally built? My boat lists to port about 5 degrees and I can't find anything else that would contribute to this condition. I deal with it by shifting the beer cooler to counter the effect. As the day goes on, I slide the cooler further starboard. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Carry more beer is my first thought.

As for the weights no they did not add any weights to the boat. You could put both batteries on the one side of the CC.

That'll be my next step....on both recommendations.

my 20 has the battery in one corner in the aft and the oil tank in the other. Im guessing they are meant to cancel each other out

It's a 75 model and all original, except for the gas tank which was replaced about 6-7 years ago. Wet foam could very well be the problem. If it is the problem, it's going to be a couple of years before I find out for sure. The transom is solid as well as the floor except for one 6"x6" spot on the starboard side. I'm going to keep using it as is until I can address the soft spot. When I do, plans are to replace the transom and raise to 25", raise floor 2", etc. I guess for now I'll have to play a balancing game. It's not that bad, just very noticeable to me. (My girls don't notice things like that.)
