fuel tank hatch- 23 inboard - Recore
need suggestions on what type of material to use for recoring this hatch. Do I use plywood 1/2 inch or something like coosa board?

i think with a fuel hatch you can use plywood. if its like my CC alot is covered by the console.

I used Nidacore also on my 23 inboard. If you search my user name you will find a thread called "Soggy Floor, Need Help" from a few months ago. I posted pictures and plans. If you are interested, I'll post the updated info of what I ended up doing. - I was on the right track but got some professional advice and help and it really worked out well.
Incredibly light& strong-did it with 3 pieces of 2'x4' nida core and some 5/4 mahogany. I would need a refresher on posting the pics, though. Good luck with yours. |

Did my 20' fuel tank hatch with BALTEK/NIDA core. Easy to work with. LIGHT and Rock Solid. Get tips from the supplier of the core and Polyester resin.
Good Luck. Not a hard job. Just make sure everything is clean and the old glass is roughed up. Think like 60 grit. |
