Default YFT record

12/6/10

405.2 is a YFT record that will probably stick around a while.

Google if you've not already heard about it. Came in to SD today on a LR boat.

Double "holy crap"!!! I caught a 112 pounder on 30# test at the East Cape of Baja, damn near killed my sorry ass. I can't imagine a 400+ yellowfin tuna.....on any tackle.

Years ago while fishing off Key West I hooked an estimated by the captain one in the 250lb range on a spin real with 20lb test line.

Was on for close to 3 hours with the captain chasing the fish when it would run. All the while he would pump me up on what a catch it would be on 20. I did get it close to the boat twice (within 25 feet) to see that it was a large fish, but when he saw me and the boat off he went.

Close to the 3 hr mark either the fish broke off or a shark got it.
Boy was I tired and my arms felt like they were going to fall off.

Would have been nice to bring it into the boat

I can't imagine a 400 pounder on the other end.
