what would the best location for a transducer on a seacraft 23 inboard center console? Is thru the hull the preferred method?

Mine is through hull directly in front of the engine and close to the keel.(port side)
It works much better that the transom mount I used years ago when I first got the boat.

Give the new Garmin flush mount/ thru hull transducer a look. Looks real slick.

My thru hull was starboard side just aft of the center console if i remember correctly. I had to build a fairing block on the bottom of the hull so it would echo right under the boat. Took some doing but, never lost bottom while cruising.
