Default Re: scampi copycat?

Not a Scampi copy cat but a predecessor. What Bryan stated is true. My understanding is that American Marc was a California builder.
Short version: Owner came to Mr Moesly asked if he could build a bunch of boats; built Moesly a factory in Miami, and from there the company became SeaCraft. Moesly's VDH design came a couple of years later. His VDH raceboat SiVad was simply Mr Davis' name spelled backwards in gratitude to man who got the SeaCraft thing going. The Scampi came later and has nothing in common with the American Marc/Early SeaCrafts except that Moesly ran the biz and made the fiberglass boats in Miami.

Visit Carla's (65Bowrider) website at www.moeslyseacraft.com for the real version. Read the article "SeaCraft...The Beginning."

Enjoy Carla's website. Great stuff for SeaCraft fans.
