Default 30 Mph On A Single 150 Opti.

While heading offshore last Wednsday my high pressure fuel pump decided to die on my standard rotation eng. having about a 10 mile limp back to the ramp we started back in.
after about 2 hours of idling I got bored and decided to see what a single would do on a 23 sceptre. with the dead one trimmed out and tabs all the way down the single 150 finally pushed the beast up on top. It took tabs full down and I had to run above 4000 but it got us home on a 4 blade 19 pitch powertech, funny the 250's would not do it with the same props. Top speed 30 mph @4800

General rule of thumb is add 50-60% in speed for an additional like-horsepower motor. So I'd guess top speed w/ both motors is between 45 and 48 mph

47 seems to be the magic number now. I do miss the 250's
running 65mph across Tampa Bay but I can fish for 4 days now on the same fuel I used in a day. If gas ever goes back below 2.00 a gal I will be hunting 250's to hang on the back again.

Hey "Bug", no need to get in a rush on those 250s, we ain't ever going to see gas that low again.
