I'm not complaining, we need the rain up here. All the springs and rivers are down. Cedar Key has salt water intrusion in their municipal well. A foot or so of rain wouldn't hurt anything.

Default Manatee County Storm Update

Been out to Anna Maria Island today.......roads are mostly passable, but the beach erosion with the extended surf will be the real problem later in the storm season. Saw 1 big tree down. Tides 2 ft above norm and my boats are doing well in my well sheltered canal

Debbie #%$@&^%$^%$#. . . . . et cetera,

We were scheduled to take off from Sarasota today, for the Bahamas, crossing the Stream today or tomorrow. . . . . .#%@^&&*^%#%@^$&#%^$#@&%$W@@@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think my trailer/boat would have made Lauderdale this morning, all the way to Naples, downpours, tornados, 25-30 kt wind UGH! I'm pretty hard to stop, but this began to look like the charge of the light brigade, or maybe the Bay of Pigs. I'm still in Sarasota, my passengers flew in and are now holed up in a hotel in Lauderdale, and we wait.

Dave, how did your 25 handle in the Keys?

Connor

Connor,

Cheer up . . . maybe you'll have a nice tailwind with some west winds in a couple of days! (Even SW would be ok, but look out if they swing to the NW!!) Where are you headed to in the Bahamas? Denny

Original destination was Hole in the Wall, with a stop for dolphin diving north of Bimini. Given the weather, looks like we will be mostly south of Bimini. Riding Rock has some nice stuff and I'd like to check out Castle rock and south, maybe get some dolphins in there somewhere.

We will cross tomorrow afternoon, with luck or Wednesday morning, not the nicest weather, but as long as no big boomers are around it should be fine.
