Default fighting fish from bow (modified 23 CC)

picture shows how much safer lower deck (for fishing) is at bow. With pitching waves you can lock knees under gunnels.

otherwise this might pull you over

Hey Shine I would actually have to go fishing and catch a fish to utilize that feature

Again Nice work on your ride!

Shine,

Let me get this straight. You work on boats for monies, you build your own self a wicked 23 and then get to go fishing on it and 'field test' your work. Does that about sum up your world?

I'm in the wrong business.

Love your build up on the 23. Pondered why the lack of casting platform, until now.

Very talented indeed.

Ha You got it.

Maybe, maybe not. I have friends in better paying lines of work and they do get to fish more than me.

never ran into any problems, with the original height of the deck...

when chunking/jigging tuna - we usually, drop the anchor and chase the fish - the guy on the helm can see the angler, and see what the fish is doing - the fsh actually "pulls" the boat...

Yours is about the same height as mine. The newer casting decks are a lot higher

found this shot....

my buddy has a newer (2001 I think) SC23 and the gunnels are at mid-shin level

Do you have rods made with the guides underneath? Its an honest question, I have seen that before in pictures (from guys up north) and wondered.

I have never had on a fish big enough to pull this boat, but Im going to give swording a try next summer so hopefully that will change

I always get a kick about guys talking about fighting fish from the front of the boat...If you have a 50 foot sportsfisherman (I don't) you don't worry about such things....lol

That is called an acidwrap guide setup. Keeps the reel from 'floping' over when your fighting the big fish!
