When I went from an old OMC to my present Mercury I bought almost everything on eBay. Spend some time researching the part numbers and they will be on the web cheaper than your dealer and in most cases no tax!

Default Part

Yea i agree but there is so much info it is hard to know what to get.. As far as harness for engine... I will wait till i get the motor in my hands andsee what pin configure i need.. since mercury pulled the rug from under my merc mechanic.. Just because he needed to sell 10 motors a quarter , regardles how many parts he buys from them.. I really dont,t care if they come form a dealer. Nor do i wan to pay taxes on it ..

Call merc with the serial number and see if they can tell you the harness part number.
Ebay is your best bet if your trying to pinch pennies and find a deal.

The oil tanks should be readily available and the prop just depends on what you want, good cruise, top end speed etc.
You did not mention controls but you have options there as well between merc, morse etc.
