Default Seacraft Console Question

Can anyone tell me why most all of the older Seacraft Center Consoles have the steering mounted on the right side of the console and the throttle mounted on the left?? Seems backwards to what others have done........ and seems ergonomically incorrect.

I think he really liked the Aston Martin that 007 drove, figured it would be cool on a boat

I believe it is because the glove box is on the left and if the steering wheel was mounted on the left and throttles on the right, you couldn't open the glove box due to the steering wheel obstruction.

I was just curious.....been looking real hard at one and will potentially buy it if it is still available after the first of the year and that is the first thing I am going to want to change on it.

Because most boats are made that way, and for a right handed person working the throttle with the strong hand is important
