Default Lowrance structurescan?

My brain melted one night when websurfing, and now I have a new Lowrance StructureScan HD. I hope someone here can tell me I didn't goof this. It looks like it gives up after 80 feet of depth, but until then it is pretty good?

Also I got a business idea- "unholy transoms". For all the guys with transom mount transducers. drill and tap 3/4" thick aluminum plates pre made for transducer brackets and a zinc mounting. Maybe throw in studs and nylock nuts. Bond it to the transom with 5200, and no holes in the transom for the transducer!

I have a Simrad nss8 and I love it. It uses the same transducer as the Lowrance. Takes some getting used to as to how it works and what fish look like as compared to a regular transducer but once you get it down you are in business. Being able to see fish off to one side of the boat is really neat. I dont know how deep it will go. The deepest I usually fish is around 40 feet.

You like it. I run a humminbird 998C and it great to be able to see which side of the boat the larger piles of bass are on. When you are pulling wire it helps you decide to steer right or left. Fun to watch as you go over wrecks. 60/80ft is about the limit on a calm day at least for the humminbird.

i want the lowrance elite 7.. was checking out the structure scan but decided it was not needed for our fishing... all i have to do is find the spot on the bottum and put a anchor in the wreck so we can dive down to it.. lol....
the idea for the bracket is cool.. their is someone making them out of starboard on the web... you bond 1 piece to the transome and mount to a second removable piece

Do you think I will need dual 'ducers on the 25 footer with the 26 degree vee? One for port, one for starboard? I wonder if Strick has it on his, or some other seahorse in his stable.
