Default Question about a 1968 20'

Ever since I sold my 76' 20SF I have been a sad puppy lol. So with my Tax money on the way i figured i pick up a new project. I found a 68' 20 footer that I think I am going to go pick up. But my question is, would this year have a Hull ID on the transom and what is the exact layout suppose to look like on this kinda year? Is it suppose to look like my old 76' 20SF or is it like the Tracker boats that have rear looking like an MA and front of an SF. Hope I am describing this question clearly.

see that's whats kinda throwing me for a loop. the boat I am looking at doesn't really look like that. let me see if I can upload the only pics I have of the boat. Its 200 miles away from me and the own is out of town. So I'm kinda on hold.

What you're looking at is a Moesly 4-stringer hull, which may be even better quality than a Potter hull! It will not have a HIN on the transom as those weren't required till about 73 or 74. It will look like an early Potter SF except the console may be smaller. Scuppers will probably run out the transom. If it's original, it will have a relatively small fuel tank under the console instead of below the cockpit sole. It may also have the Moesly-designed bait well under the port stern seat that circulates water without requiring a pump. The baitwell inlet/outlet fitting in the transom was a potential transom killer if it leaked however, so it's worth checking the transom in that area.

Lightbulb

looks more like a early 70s potter hull to me but they had jump seats on either side of the splash well in the back

it's advertised as a 1968 and the owner says its a real SeaCraft with Florida title. I guess I will have to wait and see when he gets back.

Transom appears to have been at least partially redone and the seats replaced with full height boxes like the Tracker models.

My biggest concern is that its a true Seacraft and not some imitation and or weird conversion boat. Would be planning on bring it home and ripping out the floor and transom to be redone. Just want it to be legit.
