Martin, where did you go, St. Joe Bay? We're going to be on St. George the week of the 27th and might take a day to go scalloping. Any local intel would be appreciated.
Dave

Yes Dave , st.. Joe bay.. Put in at Presnells Marina and just go a little south or to your left from there..If you never been in st joe bay.. It is very shallow so a high tide or rising tide is good .. You don't want to be stuck ..we usually go really slow anyway and scan the bottom once we see a few we drop hook and search for the gems.. I highly recommend Presnells .. It's 10.00 to launch but we'll worth it. There are four guys that help you... And keep things organized... Local family business been around for ever... Also ask them as they will have the most recent intel.. Hope to see you there

If you like pin clams there are a ton on the southside of blacks island and there are mussels on the southwest.. Next time I am going to try to get some mussels as we'll and see how they taste..

Thanks for the info, Martin. Looks like Presnells is about an hour drive from where we're staying on St. George. That's no worse than my drive from home to Steinhatchee. I might be able to talk our crew into making the trip. We have three couples and two teenagers, so it will be a herd of cats.

I've also been entering waypoints for the artificial reefs off St. George in my Garmin Bluechart. I'm going to try to get out to Federal waters for some grouper fishing a day or two. We'll see how it goes. Any day on the water is a good one...
