Why would I buy a turbine paint sprayer?
First, Merry Christmas. I personally went thru something this year and am grateful for all the blessings I received from many, many people here. My daughters cancer is in remission and life is good. Now, why would I buy a turbine sprayer when I can paint with a traditional gun?

Jeff,
Merry Christmas! Blessings to you and yours. Many of us have dodged that bullet and are grateful to be sitting here on Christmas hanging out with so many wonderful brothers and sisters we have never met. We have used both traditional and HVLP guns. An excellent job can be done with both, of course. The HVLP we got for the 23 project has it's own air source, so condensate is never an issue. The lower pressure means far less overspray and waste with arguably better adjustability and coverage. Like most of us, just getting to the point where you ready to paint is huge since 90 percent of this work is in the prep. Our '67 Moesly Bowrider project is probably going to be rolled and tipped, as we are indoors over the winter and proper ventilation is impossible.

Jeff, So happy to hear the good news about your daughter! Merry Christmas!
I have an old 2 stage HVLP unit and have worked it pretty hard over the years. Good finish and much less over-spray than conventional w/ no condensation splatter. Mine has paid for itself any number of times. But go with at least a 3 stage turbine, and preferably a nice 4 stage unit. Fuji once made an affordable quality product in the $300-400 range. I imagine any number of units in that range or above will do the job, but for $550 to 800 you'll find lifetime value.

Most importantly continued good health in 2015.
I looked at a Fuji unit a few years ago and it seemed to be discontinued so I went with a stand alone hvlp gun using my compressor (not a big one) and it worked great. I did have to let the compressor catch up once in a while. Very little over spray and easy to adjust the pattern.
