Looking for ideas on FRP parts to offer
Looking for ideas on what parts we could offer to make re-build projects easier. The hatches are a no brainer, but what other FRP parts would you like to see?
I dont think we will sell consoles, they cant be shipped and there are already consoles available.

Anchor locker hatch that you can hang Danforth style anchor in, make a couple of different sizes (20 footer and 23 footer). This is an upgrade many boaters would like to make (search on the hull truth and other sites). The trapezoid hatch without the anchor support would also be a good item (smaller than the trapezoid hatch you have now) to sell.
A recessed fiberglass battery switch bracket that can be installed into a console or gunnel. Battery switch can be seen accessed in an emergency and not snag on things. A dual switch bracket as well. Fiberglass recessed fire extinguisher holder...to keep extinguisher handy...instead of the plastic ones. would mount into the console or gunnel. Fiberglass rectangular 3 or 4 rod holder "fiberglass box" to mount on side of console or on front of console. Hidden underside mounting flange so you can add to existing flat area on console for clean look. Nothing to snag fishing line on like the plastic rod holders. Let the purchaser add their own rod holders of their choice. Composite material cut and prepped for mounting pumps and switches in the bilge area. I would buy these, I usually use wood but if I could order parts that were the right size and had the edge beveled down I would but these pre-made and glass them in. JW

A lot of the guys here are missing the slip in storage boxes that go in the back of the 20' hulls under the seats. If you could reproduce those I imagine some would want them. The factory ones only come on one side if I remember right and some may want to add one on the opposite side as well. Plus you could make a receiving trim for the liner to sit in then someone can add one if he wants to glass the receiver down and drop the storage liner in. It s a common lost part that don't come with these hulls sometimes.... Just a thought

Instant mold as well. A coffin box with a bunny pad? A dash panel. How many folks use starboard to cover old gauge holes? You could bang those right out. |
