Not sure if this is any help, but I also have a 74 Tsunami I/O model and it came from the factory with a 55 gallon fuel tank.I forgot what the name of the company was but I do remember that it was made in Hialeah Florida.
The depth of it was 12 inches.I replaced the sending unit with a Wema unit and was told that the length needed to be 1/2 inch shorter than the depth of the tank so I ordered the 11-1/2 inch unit.
I got sick of having to constantly replace the crappy units with the float on an arm.The wema uses a float that slides up and down on the tubular shaft of the unit. It's still working perfect after 3 years.

Good units. I like them as well.
