The Fish Tank AKA The Beast
Yep thats the official name of DAS BOAT. The Kmoose project donated to me and the Admiral, my goal is the make KM and all here feel like I/we have at least in some way made small contribution to the CSC site and all of the like minded ocd csc boaters.
The begining Dang I lost all the pics from yesterday, had a good one with the Queen's final approval on the DAS BOAT project. This my friend that is having a garage sale and I had first dibs. Got about $400 in rebuild tools for $100. He said at one point " slow down i'm running out of paper to track what your takin ". Got to love old friends like Mark E aka Mongo Grip. Long story but in his prime he could take any man to his knees with firm hand shake! In the back ground ya'all will see the T-square that I stole for a ten spot. Thanks all esp. KM Ed |

The plan so far and a ?
First the? How do I donate to the CSC site???
Now the plan so far: It will be a little out there for most of CSC boaters. Raise the deck 3-4" All composit, not a piece of wood on DAS BOAT Blue water 26- Transome Nida 3/4 for deck KM helped with decision 1/4 cossa for areas of fasteners 3/4 divinicell for all non structial vinyl ester for most of the build mas epoxy for specialized stuff Now the odd ball view: No way am I going to spend the $$$$ for pipe work for the h-top. Want to have AC in the cabin and the helm area. Plan on dog house/big cabin w/drop down curten at the stern end for an enclosure. Bow side, push out windows for ventilation and dry when the rain is on us. Large windows/fixed for saftey and vis. Live well made from an aireator drum, dual pumps for flow thru, lights, multi over flow levels and quick dump the water. Most of the jewlery from gem lux. Furuno FF 588, Garmin plotter SV 94. Radar? To be determined. Windlass: ?? need help for the make and model. 600 rode and 20' SS chain with a plow or bruse at the end. Oh yea and all the wire and other stuff that will break the bank. All prices are subject to change at time of purchace. If it was not for MBF, FHK I would not be here--- on the CSC rebuild. The first buy will be over $2500. Dont know if I can pull it off but will try to buy wholesale/partener in 3 companies, no brag, it is what it is and I'm broke----long story. Sorry for all the typo's the bride and I had bit of a buzz last night and I think my buzz is still in the mix. Ed & Sue |

Check out Fiberlay in Sarasota ...open account with them as a contractor and you will get a deep discount off there prices. They were very competitive when I was doing my build. Plus they do deliver to Englewood.

"Oh yea and all the wire and other stuff that will break the bank"
As mentioned, Genuinedealz.com for wire, adhesive heat shrink, etc. "To be determined. Windlass: ?" If you fish a lot for sure go with a free drop model, Lewmar Profish 1000 is sweet. 600' is the limit on 1/2" eight plait rope on my boat, however do go with the eight plait, yeah it's expensive but if your using a windlass it's the only way to go. |

Got lucky and called a classic boat restore facility in Cape Coral and was invited by the owner to take a tour of their shop. Also was offered glass lay up advice. If I get the OK from the owner, will pass along to the members here. Stopped on the way home at a convenience store that I frequent and the clerk said she knows some one that is good at painting boats. Just might go that rout for paint. thinking going with Allcraft as it can be touched up. Thoughts? Sure has been a lot of good coming my way I think the the big guy ie. God may just be laying a hand on my shoulder. Oh and by the way the Admiral is now on board. Was a little sporty for a while. Ed |

Have used gen/deals also like Bestboatwire.com, not going to spit hairs when it comes to the wire and the like. Did a complete rewire on the current sled 21 years ago when purchased. At the time I did not know better a bought all my stuff from West Marine. When I finshed the buy the sales tape was about 12 foot long. Re windlass, my biggest concern is poor bow access and cleating off the rode on the hook. Along with proper anchor locker for the rode to lay in. Buddy from THT has a Key West 26 CC and I have to tend the windlass when pulling the hook. Ed |

I would skip the windless for the time being and enroll in Moose's offshore class in stern anchor deployment and retrieval. You will learn how to deploy and retrieve your anchor from the comfort of your stern area without any cumbersome trips to the bow. Required investment includes anchor, chain, rope, anchor ball and a stolen milk crate from behind the Piggly Wiggly. Upon graduation you will be able to smoke all the windless boys in getting your hook set and pulled. Your cooler will be filled early and you will back at the dock before everyone else sipping margaritas upon their return!
