Default 1989 seawolf 26CC

Hi guys.

I know this is not a sea craft, but from what I can tell Watkins (seawolf) tried to follow sea crafts design for their boats. ( variable dead-rise)

I am looking at a 1989 Seawolf 26 with twin 150s ( on a bracket) and a pretty decent electronics package.
I was wondering if anybody had any experience with these hulls? The goods? the bads? overall?

When you get a minute, please add your location to the member information. Some of us are in "Dry County's" and we have to know where we can get an emergency beer on Sundays, so stay stocked up.
Watkins Built the Seawolfs on 126th Avenue north and 49th Street in Pinellas Park just south of where Big Storm Brewing is. There are quite a few still running in the Clearwater/St. Pete area. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office used them for years. PCSO has a Marine Unit, and are on the water here more then the FWC and Coast Guard combined. The deputy's I spoke to said they were good boats and did everything asked of them. With Watkins out of business the PCSO has shifted to Intrepids. There is a very slight difference on the VDH hull of the Seacrafts and the Seawolf in that the Seawolf has a very slight turn down at the edge of the strakes. I suppose the people at Watkins thought this would give them additional lift and of course then it wouldn't be an exact copy of a Seacraft. I believe the Seawolf 26 is a stretched Seacraft 23 with the minor strake modification. You are probably OK with the boat if you bear in mind that an '89 is probably due shortly for a fuel tank and maybe a transom. The last one I saw saw on a trailer at McMullen Oil, about a quarter mile from where it was built, having the fuel "polished". "Fuel Polishing" is a fancy term used by many who are delusional and in denial that they need a new fuel tank. Some are rather slow learners and must pay the mechanic for at least three carburetor or injector replacements at $750 to determine that the $1000 gas tank would have been a more stratigic financial route to have taken. Boating is expensive - it's even more expensive if you were stupid. You're pretty smart just being on this forum.

26 is a stretched 23 with a few mods. Hermit hooked me up with a 22 seawolf hull in exchange for some glass work. I built a bracket for it, bolted on a merc, and gave it to my dad. He's still running it today. The hull is also a 23 seacraft knockoff. The only negative thing I can say about the boat is that there is NO fuel tank hatch. If you have to replace the tank, you will have to cut the floor . . . at least this is true with the cuddy model.
