23' Sceptre with - without trim tabs
Some boats ride fairly poorly without tabs to keep the bow down etc......
What's the word on the Sceptre ride performance characteristic..." with or without " tabs |

I cannot imagine my sceptre without them. It’s a must!! It would be very difficult with a head wind to trim the boat without them.

All small offshore boats require trim tabs.... All.

Like having two different boats. You will wonder how you ever got along without them.

I have trim tabs but they are broken. I think my Sceptre runs/rides great without them. They worked for years, but I haven't fixed them because I honestly don't think I need them. Now in full disclosure I have a hardtop and crows nest tower which puts 300 pounds up front. Additionally my 23' Sceptre has a light 2 stroke outboard (Yamaha Excel 225) weighing in at a mere 425 pounds. As far as side to side, I move a cooler or passengers around accordingly. No tabs, no problems.

At 5800 rpm WOT I burn 21 gph at 43 mph, so a little over 2 mpg Real light with a tail wind, maybe 2.8 mpg

43 mph with an older 225 on a Sceptre seems very fast - yours must be set up just right.
That's great, congratulations. |
