Assuming you're meaning aluminum rims. I can't imagine the rims being bad from just sitting, tires maybe. If I went through the trouble of having the tires taken off and then remounted, I just might get new tires, especially if they were over 3-4 years old. If the rims are corroded, could they be pitted? I think before I did anything, I would inflate the tires and go for a short ride and see if they are still leaking.

Known problem with both steel and aluminum rims - can affect valve stems as well. Aluminum pits quickly with a bit of trapped moisture.

Most of the boat trailer tires on aluminum rims we replace require brushing the crud from the inside of the bead and the valve stem hole. We have to bead seal a lot of them.

Thx . Tires only 2 years old. Took a grinder with scotch brite pad and polished up spots Of corrosion and a little bead seal and no leaks.
