Default Battery relocation

Anyone relocate their battery from the rear side compartment to the center console on an 18SF ? What gauge wire did you use ? I'm planning to relocate mine, running a 1998 Yamaha C115.

That was the first thing I did! I used 4 gauge.

Genuinedealz has a calculator and makes some nice, custom wire.

I installed an appropriately sized 2-terminal block high on the transom, attached motor cables, ran the new wire to the batteries. It's a lot of wire length, but, didn't want to cut the factory ends off the motor. I've never had any problems.

I did the exact same thing on my 18.
Two Group 24's in the console kinda under the front seat hatch on the console.
One start battery and one house battery, with a Blue Seas ACR (Automatic Charging Relay).
Ran the 4AWG battery cables to a couple of terminal posts in the transom and hooked the engine to those.
Battery switch in the console.

Did my new-to-me 23 Sceptre the exact same way last year as well.
Batteries were in the enclosed transom, moved them to old fish-box (which was covered over in the re-decking) right next to the helm. Although I think I used 2AWG on the 23 because of the long run.
Really helped with the way the boat sat on her lines.
Both boats actually.

Blue Seas has a great wire size calculator:
