Bilge pump placement on 23’ IB
Anyone have recommendation on placement of bilge pumps for a 23’ inboard. The pumps when I purchased the rig seemed to have been placed just aft of MS but not confident in their placement in relation to the waterline. Any input is appreciated!

Your gonna want one in the stern for when you are on plane...dont know that it really matters on the other one but 2 is always a good idea and make sure one is connected to a automatic float switch and wired directly to a battery. Hope this helps.

I’ve noticed on my 23’ cc that if I don’t crank my trailer tongue way up there’s a midship belly that traps water being the lowest portion of the boat at normal conditions I would think you would want a pump there. For nothing other than to keep water off the oil pan and starter/flywheel ring gear

Inboard
I had 2 pumps, one where you are pointing and the other basically straight down from where the seat post is, just forward of where the shaft runs through the hull.

I have one 3500 gph rule just forward of the console under the batteries with separate float swith , and I have one of the flat /low profile auto sensor rules just behind the transmission. (On my '78 inboard)

On my Inboard I have one just aft of the batteries, I have one just below where I stand right behind the drain plug and I have one mounted just in front of the transom. Can never have enough. Obviously the middle one does most of the work.

Have one just aft of transmission and then another in front of the engine in the “belly” of the bilge. That one is attached via a piece of aluminum with an L at the bottom, mounted to the lip of the front of the console. Can unscrew it and pull pump up when it breaks or clean the impeller, etc and drop it back down.
