That smooth ride
As SeaCraft owners, we sometimes forget how good we have it. I’ve only owned SeaCrafts so I can’t really comment on the rides out there. It warmed my heart when my two fishing buddies this weekend repeatedly commented on how nice the ride was. I just smiled.

I raced a 24' Pilot house back from the islands on a windy day a couple of months ago. My little 18 ate that wind chop up like nothing. When we got to the dock one of the guys from the 24 walked over and said to me "Man you were haulin' ass coming in".
I love these boats!

A friend of mine used to go out with me on my boat many moons ago and then he bought a 25 Hydrasports and used it mostly for night time Swordfishing. Not really my thing, so I never was on the boat. He recently told me that my 23 was the best riding boat that he was ever on.

I've had similar comments from people who should know.
There are lots of good rlding hulls out there, but most of them have negatives relative to Seacrafts or are not nearly as good, IMHO. My experience is mostly: Bertram 25s. great ride but slow and too big and heavy for many uses, Seabird 24, good hull but not even close, classic Formula 23s, excellent rough water ride, but wet as heck and has snap roll issues, Seafari 20, very small boat but excellent for its size, Seafari 25, the king of ride combined with dry, nothing like it, rides better than much larger boats. Some think its too tender

I took a friend out on my 18' SF back in June. He has a 23' Sportsman Heritage with a single 250 Yamaha. He had his boat in for service so we went on mine to go out 18-20 miles for Red Snapper. He couldn't stop taking about the smooth ride of the 18" Superfisherman and said it was smoother offshore than his 23' Sportsman .
His only complaint was the lack of top speed from my 90 hp Etec, which I fairly consistently run at about 21-23 mph, and which only tops out at 34-35 depending on weather and surface conditions.
